I’m extremely wary of apologies where it’s possible to construe it as the apologizer not really understanding what they did wrong. Apologies via text frighten me because at least with respect to email, leters, or in-person meetings, I have agency over whether or not to meet the oerson, and agency over when and how long I take to read the letter/email. There’s social pressure for an immediate respinse with texts that there isn’t with letters/email.
